blinker mod
« on: Oct 10, 2010, 06:46:07 PM »
I got tired of my zipped tied on blinker so i decided to mod my marker lights. Heres what i did.
dual filament 1157 light socket

Had to open the whole up a bit, I used a 1 inch pvc coupler 3/4 long and epoxyed it on.

I cut 2 notches in the inside of the pvc so the light socket would snap in
I didnt use a light socket with a ground tab because i couldnt find the style i wanted with one so i drilled a whole in the tab and soldered the ground wires on.
Ran both the blinker and marker wires to the ground and the blinker to the shorter/brighter filament and the marker lights to the longer filament.

They work great and looks alot better

The best place to find a helping hand is at the end of your arm.

I did almost the same thing on my 84 many years ago. I didn't use a double element though, just a single and didn't worry about the marker light.
