I don't need a reason to dislike WT

You're getting closer to the front but you still have a ways to go..  The lunch wagon should make it back to you in awhile.

If I buy a truck and dent it I am sorry. I can fix what I need to. I want to enjoy the off road sport. If you just want to get smashed, and wreck your truck, that is not me. I respect these trucks for what they can do, and what they are. I have a nice toyota, and will have for years. Dont wreck them, enjoy what you have. (two cents).

You go to craigslist to score another cherry body to swap on your chassis to do it all over again...

i think if you want to trash your truck that is fine, i personally like to have a truck that looks decent and isn't all beaten up, but if it gets scratched while i am wheeling, oh well

Done that already...  The new body is complete with all glass.. well not ALL the glass as the back wall is cut out but otherwise it's all there and it great shape.  I'm looking forward to not dressing like nanook of the north when snow wheeling.

Why not, you build it to wheel right? I don't by any means "beat" on my truck, unless I get mad while working on it... BUT I sure as hell wheel it really hard and that intales having to accept some pretty major body damage. I think if you just completely ruin a rig within a few trips you obviously do not know how to wheel, I'm talking like just stupidly mash around and D.G.A.F.ing. But you can tell when a well/cleanly built rig has a few or alot of major dents they actually wheel their trucks and aren't girl thingy's. The only way to be a "good wheeler" is to take the chances even if you fully understand how bad the consequences may be...

I say wheel it, sure you see those that try to destroy their rigs and they easily do just that. It is those that tackle the toughest obstacles and bring it back with maybe some minor damage that I admire. Anyone can destroy, it's those that don't that are the true wheelers.

Against the opinion of others in my local club, I try and do the hardest trails cleanly and "if" there is damage, it gets fixed. Looking at someones beat/dented to hell Yota makes me think the driver is either wreckless, unskilled, or does not care about his rig. I feel i'm the opposite in every way. Toyota made a fine looking rig and i'm trying to keep it that way. Speaking of which i have dent repair to do this week. YAY

I find it more fun to run a tough line and avoid the body damage, but if it is unavoidable.... just do it.  My truck is super clean and I will dent it if I have to.  I have avoided alot already but it is built to wheel, not look good on the street.

Some of you must run some boring trails.  I've never gotten a dent on a gravel road either but I sure end up with them no matter how hard I try on the trails I run.  Tight technical trails with big rocks hanging out are the fun ones to me not the ones you go on for the view. :talkingn:

EXACTLY!  Sure I can spend lots of time and money to fix a few little dents after every trail run so my junk always looks showroom fresh or I can get over the damage and wheel because I love to wheel.  If you love to do body work get out of the wheeling world and into the restoration hobby....

i could say something smartassish about your driving skill but i'll let someone else go there.
I will ask you this,  whats your blood alcohol content when you hit the trail?   where we wheel out here (Superlift ORV park)  you don't get smackered drunk and hit the trails.  In fact, if anyone's seen on the trail drinking they are banned from the park.

x2 I never drink and wheel.  Thats just plain dumb. Some people just have a heavy foot and pin it to win it. I drive like that once in a while and other times I drive slow and steady. Some trails you do have to just floor it and hope for the best though a tight spot or creep creep up to it and then you hit it dents there, might as well just wheel though it and make it then dents not gonna come out on its own.

What does drinking have to do with anything?

it has EVERYTHING to do with having a place to wheel at all

We had one incident where an individual group—not affiliated with our clean up—decided to drive into an off limits area, clearly identified by the red signs. One vehicle drove off the single-track trail and ended up flipping over. Although the parties were drinking and driving, no injuries were reported. We quickly sent a recovery team and one of our emergency medical technicians from staging to assist. We also notified the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) of the incident. The vehicle was recovered and the mess was cleaned up.

To me you asking the question made it sound as if the reason he was beating the crap out of his truck had to do with alcohol.

I've worked hard to clean mine up and make it presentable. I think it looks pretty sweet in fact. However, this is as nice as it will ever look. hahaha I don't intentionally go out and just thrash my rigs but I also know that I built it for a reason and body damage happens so I don't cry about it when it does.
