new guy to the forum
« on: Jun 11, 2010, 12:28:56 PM »
Hey guys, my name is Casey and i dont have anything to wheel right now.  My DD is a white '06 GMC Sierra extended cab. Right now it has 22" rims  but im planning on eventually getting a set of 17" immitation beadlocks (black rims w/ blue "locks") and some 33"-35" tires. It will also be getting a 3" front and 2" rear lift with baja flairs and a tube bumper..
Disclamer: im not trying to use this as a wanted ad!

Right now im starting to look for my first wheeler (80-83 toyota truck or 86-88 SAS 4runner)
right now i think that i may have found a truck but im kinda wanting the runner

:welcome: from Arkansas :gap:

if you are single i'd say get a truck,  if you have a family get the 4runner

but dont shy away from the 79 trucks they are the best

if you're 6 foot or taller dont get a 79-83 cause you wont like being scrunched up,  get a 84 or up truck

OH and the 85 runner is the best, solid front axle and EFI

yeh.. thats the problem...i'm 6'1" and i only like the style of the first gen of each model...i was also leaning more towards the 4runner b/c i want to be able to take more than one friend wheeling if i need to.
I'm 20 and single and that truck i found, its local, first gen, and cheap. (only needs a battery and alternator) just waiting to see if the guy has papers and such for it and i should be good.

the ole v6 isnt as popular because the head gasket tends to go easly, thats why most people run the 22re or 22r. some people even swap the 3rz outa the next gen pickup's which is really nice  :welcome:

I disagree. I have a 83 and I'm 6'2". The OEM seats suck though!

Casey, what happened with the first gen. in Tehachapi I showed you?
"Never make your passion your occupation. it will loose it's luster and become work. that's why i never wanted to become a gynecologist!"

I also taught him how to put in 5min of hard work and then spend 15min staring and admiring what you have done...
