there about 3ft of snow but its melting rather fast
yep he told me the weekend after memorial day
nice pics scott! not looking too promissing for memorial day.
Calico or Death Valley
Last two nights, overnight temps have been at freezing. The melt "is" on for sure though. The first pic is Loon Lake and the second is in Gatekeeper at the end of April. Last pic is near the bottom of the bowl. The cornice at the first dam extends in to the Lake about 25 feet with general coverage of 3-8 feet on the paved road between the first and second dam.I expect there to be significant snow on MD weekend. I will know more next week as I have a survey trip planned. The RTF and FOTR advise is to not go to Rubicon this MD weekend, however, the trail is not closed, so if you go......tread lightly!!!Scott
Hey Cruzila, Didnt put 2 and 2 together when you passed us the other night. I should have introduced myself. Hope you got to Gorgetown safe. Austin
Yea we went into the bowl played around a bit and then headed out. The only way we got out of the bowl was 2psi, low low and a few Keystones. We camped at the Chalet then ran in the same the next day. But had a blast!!! Sucks about your rear-end but glad you guys made it out!Random Question? Were you one of the guys checking out the camping registration on rigs at the round-up 2 years ago? If so I was the guy who rolled in the yellow first gen and fixed it down in the dirty dozen, including reseting the unbroken window. Anyway we had a few beers together.Pictures...
I remember that!! Yes, the rig looks a little different now. Well done. Yes, low low gears way the only way out of the bowl. that is not for the weak. Your buddy told it was a first time snow trip. I thought, well, you'll get a good education in the bowl. glad you had fun. See you at the round-up?
