Earthquake!!!!!

Wow, was pretty interesting here. Felt it pretty good here we are having constant aftershocks. Rocks For Brains went to Ocitillo Wells don't know how bad it was down there.

More concerned about Rocks For Brains, they went down to Ocitillo Wells (Mexico Border) to play with the race truck. They've updated the 6.9 to 7.2

One of the best ways to figure out if it was big or not is duration, we were moving for around 45 seconds but not violently so I knew it was a pretty big one even though we were not close to it. I've noticed that there had been a lot of activity in the area it hit recently, I look at the USGS maps almost daily. I was wondering if there was one coming to the area and sure enough it hit. I noticed a big increase in activity yesterday and thought it was a bad sign. Here check this out, don't think they are getting any break down there at all.

Our last big earthquake was 1812.    New Madrid.  Largest quakes ever believed recorded in the continental US.   4 of them estimated to be between 7.4 and 8.2.    I don't ever want to have to witness that fault being active again.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

be ready for another big one.  the san andreas averages about 20 small(1-3 magnitude) quakes a day around the big bend area.  i was just checking usgs and it has pretty much been locked up for the past week or so.  kinda scary.  it means all the pressures building up further north closer to l.a. area.

Could also be building for something further North too like where you are. I watch the patterns somewhat closely and I did notice that there was an increase in activity in the area it happened in. I was pretty shocked that I kinda predicted it in my mind the day before it hit. NoCal has been pretty quiet lately except for the Geysers area but that's normal. Now looking further North I'm thinking Alaska is next.

Now that would be interesting. Never felt an earthquake before.... I don't think I'd know it if I felt it  :hammer:

It's just kinda.... creepy that's all. I mean, the lack of activity, then BAM a bunch of decent ones.... and then....?

I've kinda been watching all the global earthquakes lately.  And Chile has been rocked by a quake every week since the first one.  The Pacific Rim has been rocked pretty steady for the last month.   We are all doomed.  Even up here on the Oregon coast, we have been having quite a few offshore tremors in very specific places.  Maybe those Mayans had it right!

We've had some minor activity lately, nothing like 2 years ago.  Biggest we had then was about a 4.5.  The fire station I was stationed at at that time was typically within 5-10 miles of the epicenters, and got shaken pretty good more than a few times.
