OMG, was that a drive out or leave it type thing or what?

The pinion nut came loose,it's a D30 front from a J##p. Happened 2 years ago on Dusy Ershim. We were Southbound and at Thompson Lake when friends of one of the guys in our group came in behind us,this happened somewhere between Ershim and Thompson and the J##p was already on a strap when they arrived. They removed the ring gear, put the carrier back in,straightened the drag link/tie rod(don't remember which)and left the next morning. They were not due to leave yet,but wanted to allow plenty of time in case of problems. None of us had seen that before.

BoG-ToY

yeah, I had mine come loose once on a toyota
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.

mountainguy, if memory serves me, that was taken up on the Ducy. 2nd day in?

My 48 Willys has some interesting locking hubs, it has two semi circle pins with individual arms that you must rotate at the same time, in the open position the pins allow open rotation of the hub and when closed they lock the hub in position. When I go to my brothers house tomorrow (if I remember) I'll take a pic.

Kinda like this?

Might be a stupid question but I've never seen a sign like this in the woods anywhere, What does this sign mean?

Stock users are only allowed to let their animals graze every other year to minimize impact. The wilderness maps show these rotations so you can plan accordingly. One area will be odd years only and another will be even years only.

Jeep broke through the ice and it froze back over before it could be recovered.
