A good day working, that's just sick :reg:

Warn's first hubs were flanges that you just bolted them on when you wanted to lock your hubs.

Toymin8r

I remember seeing one of those used when I was a kid in the 70's.   Not sure why they aren't more popular now as a cheap recovery winch.
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I'm pretty sure the drive flanges you describe are the original equipment that Warn hubs replaced. They came from the factory that way and stayed bolted on,the Warn hubs offered a way to disconnect.

Rocksurfer

My 48 Willys has some interesting locking hubs, it has two semi circle pins with individual arms that you must rotate at the same time, in the open position the pins allow open rotation of the hub and when closed they lock the hub in position. When I go to my brothers house tomorrow (if I remember) I'll take a pic.

So that's not a change from stock,except it's a Warn product?

In the early 90s I had a Scout with those, don't remember the name.

BoG-ToY

OMG, was that a drive out or leave it type thing or what?
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.
