Definative Mojave edition information
« on: Feb 22, 2010, 04:48:18 PM »
This information is from my research and directly from Toyota USA.  It is a copy of the orignal marketing document for the Mojave edition in the USA, which were all 2WD SR5 models.  The picture is from the same original marketing document.  I hope everyone enjoys this as much as I have.  No more questions about the 1983 2WD Mojave edition trucks in the USA.

Yes the 4x4 Mojave is authentic.  It was not released in the USA according to Toyota USA, or at least they do not have any information or record of it being released in the USA.  I am still doing some research, but the standing knowledge at this time is that teh Mojave 4x4 trucks were only released in Canada.  From what I understand there were only 500 of the Mojave 4x4 released.  Each had a numbered dash plate.

So here are some pictures of the Mojave 4x4.  I don't have documentation from Toyota yet, if the information even exists, but if and when I get it I wil post it here.  It does appear that the front seats may have been different than the 2x4 version, and that the bed definately had tie down hooks and the Toyota tailgate logo.  It is hard to tell if the 4x4 version was the only version to have the dash sticker, but my guess is that it was since the 4x4 version was set for a total of 500 and the 2x4 version was slated for a maximum of 3500 units.  I will believe the 2x4 version had the sticker when and if someone shows me a 2x4 dash sticker.  Pictures to start.

This topic has been running these boards for some time. I still think its a great truck and limited making it the defacto reason. I do howerver think the 2wd looks really clean. Thanks for the refreash on the 2wd model.
