So I think this forum needs a stupid law thread which is why im starting one. 
Post up a law/laws that you think are stupid or uncalled for or needs to be changed and why.  For instance...

The drinking age my god you gotta be kidding,  I can sign up for the military, fight and die for my country at the age of 18, but I cant legally drink a beer.  What's that about.  I mean look at germany they have less DUI's and drinking related problems than america and there drinking age isnt 21 damnit.

Assault weapons ban So stupid.
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

Germany has teeth in their DWB laws and I don't think they have lawyers specializing in getting you off with only fines.

Speaking of, I think we should pass 2 new laws:  every man must serve in the military, and when done must take their service weapon home with them  :gap:

According to the US code...the Feds are responsible for training all males 18-45 to be in the militia and the states are responsible for arming them. I figure I'm owed a weapon or two.

I guess I'm owed a weapon and some training, but I doubt they'll give me the former without the latter, and I'm in no shape for that  :_oops:

Back to stupid laws...I think any restriction on any (non-felon) citizen are wrong/stupid.

Back when I was 18, we could drink on base at the E Club. Later when I was in my 20s, it changed to whatever the states law was.

The laws and policies regarding "illegal" drugs and drug use are just ridiculous.

the law that says you cannot carry a folding knife that has a blade longer then the width of your hand. (CA)  how is that accurate at all?  what iff you have no hands for some reason? no knife for you i guess....

1. Giving SSI to people that have never paid a cent into it! That's basically you having a checking account & letting someone else take the money you put in. I'm sure when I retire (if I'm lucky) there will be no money for me. The government should say "you didn't pay into it, you don't get it!  

2. People that are here illegally or on a work visa! If they can't produce proper documents, they should be taxed more. If your here on a work visa, you should be taxed more.

3. Tax laws. It should be a flat tax of your income, not tax brackets. Before you say "no taxes" think about police, firefighters & other useful services your tax money pays for.

Also the no talking on the phone without a hands free device.. Its not the holding the phone to your ear thats the problem.. its the talking on the flippin phone that is the issue.

Would you say that it is indeed the holding of the phone that is the distracting issue?
I beg to differ.  I can drive with one hand absolutely fine.  But when people talk on the phone,the talking, is what in my opinion, makes them lose concentration which effects their driving.

Keep in mind i am not talking about texting while driving. That should definitely be banned.
