Hey guys I have been looking around the forum for some days. I haven't really had time to post up any information about myself or of my truck. I am a broke college student so I cant really put much money into it now. It is an 86 pickup. We did the SAS with my dad this summer and put in some 33inch bfgoodrich a'ts. I know that i can put in some 35's but i dont want to put more strain on the engine as the gears are stock as of now. I also put in some fox 2.o pros in the front. I have the rears as well but I am going to wait until i get some chevy springs on there. I also dont have a front drive shaft yet but that will get done within the next few days. I plan on saving as much money as I can and begin to buy parts slowly. I am thinking about waiting until the engine blows to begin building it so that I can save up the most. What are your favorite/cheapest swaps out there? Im thinking a 3.slow might be the cheapest and Ill be able to salvage the most out of the drivetrain i have right now. Here is a picture of my black beauty lol:

Here are some pictures of my shocks. What do you guys think i should do about the rust? One of my friends told me to spray paint it but i think that is a bad idea because the shocks would look horribly. Do you guys have any cheap ideas?

Well here is my info. I am stoked about beginning to build my truck and all the adventures i will have in it. Thanks for looking guys!

Welcome. Nice truck! If you want a cheep fix for the rust on the shocks, try using some polishing sand paper. Start with some course sandpaper to get the rust off and finish with some fine polishing paper, then spray some clear coat paint on them to prevent the rust from coming back.
