Cross member strip!!

I put some 5 to 1 gears in the truck and when I removed the cross members, the nut in one of the frame holes stripped. What do I do now?? Are ubolts the only answer?

Just leave it out.  A lot of people make there own crossmembers and only have 2 bolts per side.  So i think 4 bolts on one side and 3 on the other doesn't hurt.  My friend is missing a bolt on one side becasie it stripped.  The others haven't came loose yet.

i have only been running 2 bolts per side for a few years now without a problem.
the ones in the frame are wasted so i just use the outer ones.

Another vote for 3, broke the weld on the nut inside the frame removing stock x-member and had to cut bolt with the Sawzall. If it bugs you tap it out like the others suggest.

You could get a FROR crossmember...doesn't use the stock mounts.

I ran three bolts on one side for a good while, but I did very little wheeling with it.
