Tire Gate prototype
« on: Nov 22, 2009, 06:18:41 AM »
I know all most all 4x4 guys have heard of the Tire Gate and if you haven't you should go check it out www.tiregate.com

Well not too long ago I called the Tire Gate company wondering about about s Tire Gate for 80's Toyota, the guy on the phone said that they only make them for the newer model Toyota pick ups, but he said sometime around February the will be starting to fab a prototype for the 1st gen toys. He asked if i would be willing to let my truck be the prototype but since I had a bobbed bed that I wouldn't work out  :smack:, but be on the look out come February

I don't see why it wouldn't work out on a bobbed bed  :dunno:

doesn't matter how much is bobbed. if the tailend of the bed is used in every bob... well then it all bolts to the bed the same. tell that nimwit to not be dumb.

Not all bobs are the same HK

XtremeMP, if you did just section and re-weld the end back on like most do it should still work. You could send him a picture of your bed to show that you still have the stock tail gate mounting points if that's the case.  :twocents:

The only problem is that where the bolts where for the hinges for the tail gate rusted out. So it would have to be more custom than the tiregate already is. Most likely I'll end up fabin myself.
