Clocking Transfercase 30*
« on: Nov 10, 2009, 10:09:07 PM »
Hey there everyone. I was recently looking at doing a dual case setup and wanted to clock my transfercase so i could run a flat belly skid. The only issue is i need to clock it about 30*.
Now i have read about people doing this already and i know it has been done, But how?!?!
I know that inchworms v6 to 4cyl adapter gets you 10* and the marlin reduction case adapter gets you another 10*. But simple math tells me this is only 20* when ive read and am looking for 30*.

I thought there was an clocking ring put out a little while ago or something like that??
And ideas? thanks,

 :inthedark:

Hopefully somebody from marlin will pipe up, but there may well be oiling issues with being clocked so far.  Most people have no problem obtaining a flat belly with a minimal body lift or drivetrain lift and a 10* rotation.

I talked to the guys at inchworm today and was told that there isnt any way to do a 30* without doing tripples so im going to do a 20* and do a little lifting to get it to clear. My goal is to run a COmpletly flat bottom out of 3/8.
Anyone build such a thing? Ive read a few truggy builds with flat bottoms but there dedicated trailor queens and this has to be a DD so i think 20* is best to keep the cases alive.
I wonder what my gas mileae is going to be like when im done with this  :headscratch: :smack:

Clocking a case 10* gets the bottom end of your T-case level with the bottom of the tranny. Which would normally be considered flat. Why do you need 20* or 30*. What is that going to get you?

Most of the time if someone wants a flat belly, clock the case and then raise the tranny. But clocking the T-case any more than that doesn't get you anything but a really bad pinion angle.  :smack:

Looks cool, but like I said, why would you ever need more then 10*. Everything beyond that is counter productive.

Are you sure the v6 adapter from inchworm rotates the whole assembly another 10 degrees?

Why would it do that?
