22RE short block help
« on: Nov 06, 2009, 07:43:00 AM »
I recently purchased a 93' with the 22RE as a fixer upper/toy. I got it for cheap because it has a engine knock and needs a new bottom half. the head is brand new along with the oil pump, water pump, timing chain ect. the guy I got it from bought it and thought he would get it running, then threw a fit and sold it when he relized he haddent fixed the problem.  he didnt wanna do the project again so he sold it to me. so for my question. I have been looking around for a short block, but I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere I could get one for a good price? I have done this project before with my first yoda but the place I got the short block went out of bis. the crisis seems to have taken a big tole on the rebuilding market. any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ted at engnbldr.com if your looking for economy and quality.  You can get a rebuild kit from him and have a local machine shop do the work if you want.  That would probably be the cheapest.

most competent machine shops can get the same parts that Ted sells for less than it would be to have them shipped from ted
