3.0 V6 Short Block Assy: Rebuildable Core
« on: May 13, 2010, 01:15:47 PM »
I have a '93 xtra cab 4x4 that needs an engine rebuild so it can become my daily driver work truck. The prior owner hydro-locked it, which snapped a rod, broke the main caps and blew a hole in the side of the block. My money is tight in this economy and I am remembering the many times people have had 3.0 engines that they couldn't find homes for.  I am looking for a rebuildable block, crank, rods, main cap assembly, windage tray and oil pan. In other words I need a rebuildable short block core. Happy to deal with sellers or tipsters who could steer me to my goal. I'm in southeast Wisconsin, but willing to drive 300 miles (one way) for a engine that would be as close to free as possible. -- Matt
