5th Annual Christmas Card Exchange
« on: Oct 28, 2009, 04:27:09 PM »

Welcome to the 5th Annual Marlin Crawler Forum Member Christmas Card Exchange!

Wow, that was a mouthful!  haha.

Anyone who participated in years past can attest to how fun it is to start receiving holiday cards from all over the United States....and sometimes the world!...from other Marlin forum members.   Here's how it works.   I have been nominated to be the keeper of this year's address list.  You PM or email your mailing address to me, I add it to the list.  At the agreed upon "deadline" I will email or PM the entire list to you.  You then start sending out cards to the people on the list, and then sit back and wait for theirs to come to you!

*PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR MAILING ADDRESS IN THIS THREAD*

If you want to participate, you can post here just to let everyone know you'll be participating and help to get others in the spirit.  But then either PM your mailing address to me, or email it to me at jbottorf@lhup.edu.  I'm asking everyone to send their mailing addresses to me this year so I know we have the most current address for you--I won't be referring to lists from years past, I will be compiling a brand new one.

Also in your PM or email to me, please let me know if you'd prefer to receive the list as a PM on here, or attached to an email as a PDF document.

And yes, I know it's not even Halloween yet.

RIP Kyle, we love and miss you man.  :smooch:
thanks for the smooch I miss you too !  :yesnod:

Needless to say, I'm in!

I also meant to ask opinions upon said "agreed upon deadline."  Let me know when you think the list should go out.

EDIT:  Glen posted December 1 before I posted this question.  Does everyone agree?   I guess if anyone wants it sooner, just ask and I can send you what I have at that point.

Dec. 1st is a good date gives you time to get them out, and I'm in as usual.

I'm in too. And this year I promise to try and do better about getting cards out. My apologies to everyone since none of them got out last year.

Oh just go buy some cards at the local dollar store, I did and they will be just fine. It's going to cost me more in stamps than cards.

I dunno, Joe's cards are way better than anything I've seen come from the dollar store :gap:

Or you could make them then email them. :gap:

Which I've actually been thinking we should make it an option to do next time. Saves on stamps and maybe more would join in

:dunno:
I like getting real Christmas cards, 'cause when I get them, I put them up on the wall.  I guess I could just print out the email and put it up, but somehow its not the same.  Mabye its just me, but this is one Christmas tradition I'd definitely like to see stay alive, and not be taken over by electronic communication.  :twocents:
