Brake upgrade?
« on: Oct 20, 2009, 03:14:28 PM »
So I have been seriously thinking about putting disc brakes in the rear on my 93 runner and doing the caliper and disc upgrade in the front.  I was curious if it is worth the 700 bucks for everything including the one inch master cylinder.  As of right now my rig stops pretty well but i cant lock up my tires, how much of a difference would the upgrades make?

get the bigger front brakes,  before you go disc in the rear

I did the disc rear, no porportioning valve, V-6 calipers and stock master cylinder. Can lock up the rear if I try hard and stops very quickly. I do have a v-6 master that I have not installed yet. I say go with what you have it stopped better than I anticipated so I never upgraded the master.

check my sig for 2 types or rear disc setups that keep it all toyota, so u can use the old sfa front stuff in the rear.  and alot cheaper than the chevy swap stuff.
