is damage to the front crossmember repairable?
« on: Oct 08, 2009, 05:10:21 PM »
found a good deal on a truck, but just by looking at one picture of it not sure if its even worth looking at.
it looks kinda trashed, but it is 22re swapped.

check out the front hangars, especially the pass side and core support. if its damaged this bad is the frame probably bent too?

link doesnt work for me...

look up the build on my truck..... i replaced my mangled front crossmember myself for.... $30 in steel and some time ($15 of that was because I had the steel place cut it to size for me)

frames bent on vehicles isn't a big deal.. and if it really bugs you, a shop can pull the frame back straight

i checked out yours, you had the middle part of the crossmember pushed in. but it didnt look like like it was too hard to fix.

this one just really has the hangar messed up i cant really tell how bad the crossmember is.

heres a link

yeah the problem is up here i dont have any shop :(

exploring cheap options, but  it doesnt seem to work out when you dont have a place to fix stuff. and i really dont wanna pay a shop like 200 bucks to put a crossmember in lol

get better pics but judging from the front fender its been smacked pretty hard,  Marlin sells a front crossmember/hanger that would fix it if its bent but dang look at the rest of it,  smacked that hard it might have diamond the frame
