So I have been working on the rig slowly in the last month or so.
I have got the 5 speed Tranny swap done, installed the clutch pedal and all the clutch what nots.
Dual cases are in.

I was able to find an center console with an heater from an 93 Runner. With a little bit of mod work it should keep things all nice and cozy during the snow runs.

I want to thank Frenado and Chris for all the help and parts and wisdom was need to do this.

Here is some pics of the Dual case set up with the center console.

kinda late I don't know if you have made your shackles yet but mine are beefy kinda to big but It was cheep. I just bought a piece of 3/4 by 3 flat bar and my shackles are 9" eye to eye. The only thing with long shackles is it will throw your pinion angle off I assume you welded the perches on the rear axle to the length of those shackles so if you go shorter it may put the pinion towards the ground a little by running shorter. Longer shackles aren't bad at all if you have the perches welded at the right angle for the shackle. Also getting hung up on them isn't all that bad because it somewhat protects the body. my shackles are stick out about an inch past my bed and hang down a bit but I never really get hung up.

Hopefully tomorrow I'm going to install an 3" add-a-leaf to my spring pack. So I should be able to cut my long  shackles down a bit.. I will post some before and after pics when I get it done.

I was also thinking about mounting the long shackles to the stock shackle mount? That may put the shackle angle too flat and it should give it alot drop out. Would that be an issue?

From an 1986 Dodge 60's front and rear.
Do you know the WMS width?? I am trying to decide on what width to go on my runner and really like the width of yours.

Thanks a ton.

I will try to get you that info tomorrow.

BTW, my wheels are 15 x 10 with 2 or 2.5 backspacing.

I have seen people use the stock location for the shackle but it won't provide much lift due to the angle of the shackle.

All in all most people I have seen use the stock location are running blocks or are pretty low.

So its been some time since I posted any progress to the rig.
It has been going slow for right now, extra $ is getting somewhat tight (x-mas), but hopefully it should be out and rolling soon.
Got the dual cases in, fitted into a 93 runner center console with heater. Got it all wired up and the plumbing done also.
Steel braided brake line installed, next is the 1 ton brake master cylinder.
Then shocks, shock hopes, gears and front locker (welding up the rear for now).
The rear drive line is being made right now, the front will be made once I get the front end pushed forward some more..
I will get some more current pics of things that are done in the next few weeks.

P-DiseToy24

need one of those one ton master cylinders brand new in box with recipes

So I finally got some stuff done to the runner today.. Rear drive shaft with CV installed, pinion angle is on the money, Brake proportion value installed along with home made brake mater cylinder adaptor to 1978 1 ton Chevy brake master cylinder. Got the brakes somewhat bleed.
Hopefully tomorrow I will finish up the brakes. Then tear into the front end, going to move forward some more maybe 3" or so.

Here is some pics that I got done..

Got the axle pushed forward, about 4 more inches than before. Modded the front axle/u-bolts so I should have no issues breaking the studs comming out of the diff housing.

It ready to roll, just waiting on wheels now, hopefully in the next 2 weeks or so they should be here.

Here is some pics, enjoy:

That is a clean rig! Nice! I haven't read all through the build but is there trimming in the future? Looks like the rears will absolutely eat the 1/4 panels with a little flex.

Thanks for words.

Yep, trimming will most likely happen soon. I will take a paint pen, BFH, a cordless sawall.

I might try to move the rear axle back a few more inches, kinda still on the fence about that.

Before you bend the crap out of the panels, use an air die grinder with a cutoff disc. Makes life a lot easier. Trust me.  :hammerhead:

Looking great!
