You can upload a pic from your computer, use one from the board or link one from a website, if you use one from another site just be aware that if that site goes down for any reason so will you avatar. They have to fit the requirements set by the admin or they won't be allowed.

Pictures can be uploaded by clicking on the Additional Options button in the bottom lefthand corner while you are posting a comment. They too must be of a certain size, once you get the hang of it, it is easy.
