Thanks a lot man,  maybe next weekend I bet it's crazy up at bald right now.

is that sunshine?
lucky dog, its gloomy up in these parts,
perfect f/axle!!
Thanks man!    Yeah thats the sun, it just cleared up today really. Its been miserable for about a week.     But there's about 8 feet of snow in our usual wheelin spot, so that should make it all worth it.

Hell yeah man,  your truck will go anywhere man, its got the works.  You dont need a 50,000 dollar jeep to have fun.

This is looking sick! Where did you score that high pinion E-locker at?!? Did you install the "4x4 labs" 6 stud kuckle tabs yet? How did you go about drilling and tapping the two holes in the third so that they were strait?

Thanks   I put it up on a drill press that was level.  and i tried to prop the housing up as level as possible, using a torpedo level across the diff opening in all directions.

oh yeah and your inbox is full

Oops, Ive been lagging on the updates.   I got it all done and took it up and wheeled in the snow once. Everything went smooth, there were no issues with the Elocker or wiring. I'm happy with it.

Here's a few pics

need to make some motor armor

new marlin diff armor fresh gusseted housing w/ shaved drain pug

nice new pinion angle,    almost flat

and my $5 junkyard find,  a cruise switch off a semi truck

Took the truck up to bald on the 4th of july weekend, it did pretty good. The Elocker has still been working great with no issues. So far it has egaged and disengaged everytime.

got a few pics but not many of my truck

This thing hasn't done anything but sit in the driveway for a while. I put a new bumper on it, thats about all Ive done lately.

I'm hoping to run Dusy Ershim sometime in the next month or so.

I took it up and wheeled Red lake yesterday. We planned on going through to coyote but decided to just turn around after the gatekeeper.

Red lake isnt too bad. just kind of a long and dusty ride.   we will have to go check it out this summer.

I could have swore I already posted this pic but i guess not. I"ve had these since January I just havn"t had a chance to use them yet.

Re: the rustbucket..... getting one tons
« Reply #324 on: Jun 11, 2012, 12:36:12 AM »
I know, I change this thing around way too much and wheel it nowhere near enough. But I found a deal that I couldn't pass up. To make a long story short I wanted a wider axle as soon as I put the 39.5s on. So I traded a gun I had for a taco width rock assault front housing. The housing was nice looking and all but I started thinking, I could probably sell this thing and buy any axle I want. So I sold it and right before I ordered a diamond I found this old man up in coarsegold CA parting this thing out and picked up a Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear for $600

The plan is to get these things in and swap in a 3rz before the trails close for winter.

I already sold my carberated 22r and picked a 3rz out of a wrecked tacoma.
I have been collecting parts for both projects and I thing I have enough parts to get this going and keep interesting.

A little progress pic from yesterday and one of the new motor.

If you get over heated and need a cold beer(or water like me), I might be close enough to save you!
If I hit it just right, I might make it.
