I think you might be real close. I've seen you in your runner in my neighborhood before.

What do you guys think about 488s and 39.5s with a 3rz going up the 4 lane?
I know 538s would be ideal but these things already have 488s and 60/70 gears aren't exactly cheap.

I'd say run it with the 4.88's and see how it is. If you don't like 'em maybe throw up a trade your gears for some 5.38's.

That's the plan for now. My buddy had a 3rd Gen runner with tons, 538s and 42" tires and he scooted up grades pretty good. I'm hoping my little single cab which is way lighter will be alright on the 488s

I haven't got much done on the motor swap other than collect parts and make some motor
Mounts.  I got the w59 bell housing, flywheel and new clutch.

Pic of the mount I made.   Just a bushed dom sleeve fromRuff stuff welded to the stock motor mount bracket. Then I will use link tabs to bolt it to the frame.

Looks awesome bro.

Thanks Rafi!    That new tundra is looking pretty good too.

HULK

Thanks Brandon.   I got the tundra going as far as horsepower.  Up to 300 BHP.  My 4Runner is at 305 BHP, but that also has a 4.0L V6 with the TRD Supercharger in it.  Thinking of throwing lockers in the rear and calling it done, on my Tundra.  My buddy has one that he took to the snow, and went everywhere my cousins did in their 4x4's.  I am going to put a slight lift for clearance, but keep it simple.  If you ever need help turning a wrench bro, hit me up.

I'm definitely liking your build man. i like the direction you have taken it.

wow already got the motor in. nice work and this heat is no fun at all. guess you can cool off once its done and ready to roll out for the winter trails

Oh :pokinit: no!  That pic was from the wrecked Tacoma. Only thing that motor is installed in is a tire.

What are your plans with your toy axles?

They're getting parted out to fund this whole project.

looking good
thanks!   I haven't been able to do much lately because I screwed up my back.
I got tons of parts but just haven't been able to do :pokinit:.

I did manage to get the truck turned around so I can start working on the front.

86rustbucket

I got a little done on the front but not much. The front axle I got was off a dually so I had to swap the wheel hubs out for some from a single wheel axle.

A little barefooted white trash wheel stud removal

I got the 60 all torn down and put a Spartan in it. That went pretty smooth. the way they designed it with the installation pins is great.

Peterbuilt84

Always liked your rig, good to see some updates on it :smokin: Are you gonna keep the 4d's?

at least your doing some work i have parts building up and no time.
and the bare footed stud extraction isn't white trash i go out the in my slippers, maybe i'm white trash.

Any updates?

Havn't done a whole lot of anything lately because I have a herniated disc in my back.  I did get the front axle most of the way ready to go though. Im just waiting on a few odds and ends from Sky to start the install.

Sky Dana 60 Toy Flange  (waiting for God to "miracle" that sucker on there.

Oh Yeah,  I almost forgot to mention.  I found an amazing deal on a tacoma that was in a minor fender bender. So as much as Im gonna miss my 86 i'm gonna switch everything over to the taco.

How i got it

new bumper

Plans are throw the tons under it.   Shorten the wheelbase a bit and put my cases in it using the w59 bellhousing.

New build thread coming soon!

I got lucky when i found the Tacoma. Well it found me really.  Some old man took it from his kid for beating it up. It was missing the front bumper and has a dinged up driver side fender so the kid smacked something but it was pretty minor. The used bumper I found bolted right up. Long story short.. the guy let it go for $2600.  I couldnt beleive it, I love my beat up old truck but this is gonna be way nicer.
It's got 4 seats and air conditioning so I'll be able to take my kids along more often now.
This build is basically being funded by parting out my built Toy axles because the wallet is looking a little skinny these days.
