no dude I'm rockin 27's with stock inner shafts.  I flogged on them pretty hard in the snow this winter with no problems.  I did break a stock hub gear immediately after my first trip.  I replaced them with longfield gears and hve not had a problem yet.  The true test will be here in about a month when our trails open for the summer and I can go abuse it in the rocks.

thats good to hear,  i should be good even if i score some 37's
i have nowhere near the power your rig does(22r carb) but i am 238 to 1

so when you busted the stock hub gear you didn't strip out the long?          also, are those chromo gears 65 each or a pair?

yeah I think you will be fine with 37's.   yeah I'm 230:1 but I really havnt even used the lowest gear yet, its way too low for snow bashin.  I didnt completely break my stock hub gear. The groove around the gear that holds the snap ring was cracked and pieces were breaking off of it.  luckily I caught it before it completely broke and caused damage to the splines.  The Longfield hub gears are 65 each

this is the factory volvo bracket that i cut down

then welded in a 2 inch spacer and gusseted it so there is room to get the bolts in

the bracket will look like this when it's done
