here is my luv that i have built "a few times" it is now running a 22r bored .20 over with a rv cam, header centerforce clutch. the axels are a 85 front with top truss with knuckle cusses and 4.88s with a Detroit trutrack. the rear is ifs with a Detroit locker, it has 35" bfg mt on it most of the time.

Chevy started something good and shoulda continued it but, they dropped a good thing(luv) and sunk into the "s-10" blah!! Thats GM for ya.

Are you sure the rear is "ifs?"  It looks like a solid axle to me.

looks good though. i almost built an 81 LUV before i got my toyota. sometimes wish i wouldv. not nearly as common as toys.

Yea meant the wider Ifs one. Yes there not that common and hard to find parts for!

Started racing it and cutting and modifying it to the point that the parts were worth more than the truck and moved on to Toyota's. I do miss it though it was fun, Isuzu 2.3 untill I put a Toyota 18rg with n.o.s on it.

Did you use the Chevy luv frame or did you use a Toyota frame?? I have a chevy luv i want to convert to solid axle with the complete toyota drivetrain

its a stock luv frame i figured it would be the easiest to do and i think it worked out good.
