Is your "suprarunner" name implying that the 'Runner is Supra powered?

5M or 7M or 7MGTE ( And if you have the 2JZ I'll just go cry in the corner...)

I've got an older Supra pushin 400HP at the wheels...

Actually it is a jap spec 6m w nearly over 200 hp and i forgot on the torque.

Mike D

Suprarunner check out the fox 2.5 air shocks they have double the lifting capability they hold up about 2000lbs. per corner so that will level out to be 5000lbs. vs. the 2,500lbs. capability of the 2.0's and they are only 75 bucks more
just my .02

I want to run them but who knows when they'll be available  :dunno:

Suprarunner

Well, STILL working on this thing. Coming slow because it's a every Sunday project but never the less coming along. I have much patience...

Suspension is finally done and it is off the jack stands sitting on its own weight!  :beerchug:

All we have left now is the cage, brake and fuel plumbing and then it's time to try an destroy it!

Here's some update pics. I hope to have it completely done within the month.

do you still have the old leaf springs for it

Suprarunner

Shoot, one of my buddys claimed them before they even hit the ground. They were brand new Alcans. As far as I'm concerened Alcan is an awesome company, great product, great customer service.

Looks like ya kinda mounted them a little narrow
87 runner, 4" trailmaster lift, 33" TSL/SX, 5.29's V6 e-locker, 22re that cost too much

Suprarunner

It was either mount them there or back half the frame. Thats as far out as they could go wiithout conflicting with the frame. I don't forsee any problems with them being there though.

Mike D

and you don't drive that on the road so it don't really matter

Suprarunner

Who doesn't drive what on the road? This truck will be drivin to every trail it rides unless it's out of state (Tellico)

Don't get to nay-saying till you see it perform. I guaruntee it will go!

On your typical 1/4 eliptic set up on Jeeps that everyone loves so much the suspension mounts at the same spot and it does not seem to affect the drivability of those any.

I can't tell from the angle of your pictures but it looks like those bars aren't parallel...have you tested to see if you have rear steer yet?

Suprarunner

Testing it on the ground we have zero rear steer, on the trail it might be different but I doubt it. we spent alot of time dialing in the geometry to avoid that. I can't wait to get it on the trail and flog it, then I'll be able to post the pics that count!

As far as SAS stuff goes, I prolly don't have nothing worth shiping to you. Marlin makes a great weld in kit for that though, let me know if you need any tech advice when you get started also!  :driving:

All i was really going at was that I will be very tippy

and the right looks a little closer than the left

 Your funny, A full width narrow bodied 4runner being tippy.... Maybe you should reserach how these link suspensions work and are built, and here's an idea, try building one yourself, before you find all these "problems" with people who have experience building/wheeling them.  And yes, that's a good eye, the right shock tab does have to be moved about a 1/4 inch out to the right... I woulda never noticed that without your keen eye! :ha_ha:

Mike D

I'm not trying to offend you or anything you did a nice job but I was just telling what i have been told by professionals and i will be building my fox air shock setup in a coulpe of months and I'm a high schooler with way to much time on my hands and have done the reasearch

Hyena

The shocks don't look that much closer together then inboarded springs.  how close are the shocks?

Suprarunner

I think from mount to mount there 30 inchs apart. Like I said, I would have loved to had them mount further out but I just did not want to mount them outside the frame rails, and just did'nt think it would be a good idea to run those things inboard at a steep angle. They're only a couple of inchs in from where the leaf springs were to mount on the axle.

wickedd runner man

Thanks!!! You don't know how bad I'm itchin to wheel this thing, it can look bad ass hell sitting in the drive way but that dont mean a thing unless it go go goes! :driving:

Hyena

Then the shocks are actually right were inboarded springs would sit, so it isn't a bad place for them.

Yeah, there is a few inchs I can outboard them... I'm debating now rather or not I should do it. I'm going to cut those shock tabs off and put some new ones I made on there that I think will look better so when I do that it'll be the time to move them out if I want to. I'll prolly kick em out a  few degrees.....
