Full width 4runner in the werks!
« on: Oct 28, 2004, 06:34:10 AM »
Ok, I tried my best not to do this but I have had it! Broke another front axle this past weekend at the Gray Rock ride in Birinngham (brand new Longfield super set) and I said that if I keep breaking axles with that set that there coming out.  Started the swap last night, picked up my rear end, an 04 H2 14 bolt complete with E locker and disc brakes for $400 bones!!!!!! Going next week for the Dana 60 front and then it will be on like donkey kong.... I'll get some pics and keep yall posted. That rear is 72 inchs from wms to wms!!!! The runners gonna look sick with full widths!!!!

Kool, you broke one of the new 30 splines longs???  What size tires you runnin?  Full width = coolness factor 100!

Gud luk!
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Well, didn't break the inner, just the birf. But I just cant seem to keep axles in the front end of that thing. Running 36 sx's with 15x8 beadlocks. I'll keep pics posted of the progress!

I guess it was the 27 spline? ???? I'm assuming you'd have to change the side gears in the carrier to run 30's right??

What would a set of GM 1/2 ton axles with CTM's Warn shafts and lockright in the front 10 bolt and a 12 both with disc conversion and a full case detroit with4.10s  be worth to ya? I even have a flat top passengerside Knuckle for the cross over. Still needs to be machined but I have it. Its In Atlanta.
Warns and CTMS would set you back $950
Full case Detroit is $500
Gears and set up kits$400
Disc kit with Caddie Calipers $400.
Axles have reasonably new seals front was gone through completly in the last 15k ($500 with tierods all new seals, ball joints etc.)

The truck this is in I may EbAy this week but I have a line on a different set of axles.

I am going pull the Warns and CTM more then likely.

Get back to me quick if you want to make an offer. I need to get this truck out of here. Not using it and tired of paying insurance on it. Kid just ran up $800 at the dentist so I need the money.

Stated the strip down Sunday, going to pick up the 60 front today. I think we decided to run the leaf springs in the back and use the factory H2 trailing arm towers to run two links to the outside of the frame rails. That should eliminate all wrap and it will be an easy fab. Going to have to widein' out the front hangers which might be a little more work the ay my SAS is done but no worries... I'm stoked on the idea of a full width runner!!! :hammerhead: :hammerhead: :hammerhead:

Heres some pics of the strip down, more coming! (yea, those are Zuk axles under there...Tight.)

Dammit, I can't get the pics on.......

Got the H2 rear end striped down and the 60 busted down (getting ready to weld the spiders) also got the SAS cut out and cleaned up from under the front. Waiting on parts now, axles should be in soon! (still working on pics.. :headshake:)
