So which one is the new longs?? Is the outter stub shaft the actual shaft of the birfield or is it the bell of the birfield/longfield that is 8000 ft-lbs?

So same torque load as a D60, but it twisted more before braking?

Man I've seen Marlin beat the crap out of his D60/Toy front end and I just can't imagine a Toyota outter taking that same abuse.. Anyone have any experience with the new Longs?

Yeah so it is the outter stub shaft that is breaking before the bell of the longfield breaks. Wow, thats pretty amazing

Torque load is just under that of the 60 but has twice as much degree of twist before the big boom. Very impressive, think I need to get some for "spares" :muscles:

It would be cool to have these new birfs.  But i think i am still gonna go with a 44 front and 60 rear.  I have had enough with the toyota axles.

Ill take a yota with Bobby's new axle setup over a dana axle anyday just for the simplicity factor, and the fact that I already own them ;)  Im thinking very seriously about these new ones he just came out with......
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

You'd still be ahead $$ wise too, $635 for the new birfs and inners and the Toyota axle thats already under your truck is now comparable to a D60. If you want a 60 you have to find one, between $750 -$1000, do the work to get in in the truck, new wheels, and since you got a 60 you'll want bigger meats, new crossover ? , flanges for drivelines, and then a full size axle in the rear. Although there is some serious bling factor seeing a Yoda sitting on 1 ton running gear.

A 44 is equal to a toy front, why would ya want to do that? Move up to a Dana 60 if your gonna replace it :eyebrow:

I am not affraid of breaking a toy front axle like i am not affraid of breaking a 44 front axle.  it's just i want to go WIDER.  Pluss i have had some bad things happen to my toy axles.  And i want to make it so horrible on the road that i won't be able to drive it on the road anymore.  It's gonna turn into a trailor queen.  I could get a rear full width full floater D60 set up for a toyota for $300 right now.  all i would need to do is get a toyota-D60 flange.  and then tires and wheels.  If i sell all my toyota stuff i could get about $1500 for the axles and tires and wheels.

Hyena,

What do you have as far as gears, lockers, wheels, tires, that you want to sell for $1500.

Might be interested.

Thats pretty amazing......BUT....... the axle shafts can take 8000 ft/lbs of torque, i doubt that the hub body, hub or r&p can take that kinda torque. Yeaa you can get the hub bodys drilled and have cromo dowls, use drive flanges insted of hubs, but then what.....you snap your pinion in half, i doubt even the factory 4.10's or even 3.90's could deal with that.   Just got back from 3 days at the Hammers. Bound them up hard, gave them more power, and they kept asking for more. Great stuff Bobby, can't wait until the season starts again
