Martacking 30 spline Longs
« on: Aug 20, 2006, 11:05:22 AM »
Alright friends at home...I need some clarification and info.

1. The purpose of a Martack is to prevent the axle shaft from sliding too far into the diff and to keep the seal where it's supposed to be...right?

2. With the above in mind, it looks like I'll have an inch of the shaft engaging the splines in the diff. Does that sound right?

Thanks

30 spline longs don't need a martack at all.  with the way the birf and axle is setup with the snap rings, it will sit where it needs to sit, no other way about it.

Alright! I guess, I'm ahead of schedule (considering how far behind I am!). Thanks
