ok 63s in front and rear and can run hysteer i had to clear this up my friend was saying only rear and wasnt worth it thanks for help ill proly stick with 33s for now

I pait 80 bucks for my springs at Spaldings Auto in Spokane, WA. and they didnt even give me the right fricken springs I was looking for. I was bummed. but Ill rock 'em for now.

I was told that the 88-99 Tahoes had the 63's as well and being a tahoe they'd be more "broken in" due to being a heavier vehicle. the guy said oh i always ask for those springs on that vehicle they work better. come to find out after i get all the way home... yeah 54" Chevies I was bummed.

But i think they'll work good. they are 4leaf w/ an overload. arent F150s around that length too?

I traded 12 Coronas for my 63s with 4wd shackles.

ha this dude buyin a couch at my buddys house said he had a bunch of random leafs at his house, so he droped em off and i dont know wat the fronts were but they were like 4 inch longer than marlin fronts, well anyways they flexed like a savage..there were a bunch of very very thin leafs..so sick for some random free leafs. then used  a set of 2wd 63s in the rear from pick n scrape for 68 bucks. than runner flexed savage for being on some random junkyard leafs!!

I purchased a set of Energy Suspension bushings for my 63" chevies. I was at Tractor Supply looking for bolts to use in mounting the springs. They didn't have any 9/16 bolts, so I bought 3/4 because they were the same size as the metal bushings Energy gives you to put inside the urethane bushing. Is there a problem not running  the metal bushing and just sliding the 3/4 bolt right through the urethane bushing? Thanks for any help!

Try running a bolt that completely runs on the shoulder.  Most threads are smaller on OD, in the threads. Threads will chew up bushings, and shackle holes.  Run a nylon nut, or stover, so you dont bend the shackle.  Be prepared for premature wear on the bushing.  If you can't find the 9/16 hardware then I can set you up.

can anyone give me an exact model to get the chevy shackles off of? i got my 63s from a friends, and Im not sure what chevy to get shackles from.

88-99 Silverado 1500 should have those shackles. they are reversed on the trucks.

i had an 2004 1500 in the shop the other day and it had 3 leaf 63" springs on it. so what is the difference between that and the 77-98 springs

the newer ones are thicker.... i grabbed a set of those same springs (2004) and the guy told me I wanted a earlier set. the spring rate works way better for a light truck

I love my 63s; got em from u-pull for about $40; came from some 2wd Chevy/GMC trucks. It's easier to pull the right-side from 2 trucks instead of fighting the fuel tank. Trust me.    

I've been looking into F150 springs for whatever I build next just to see what the differences are between them and the Chevy springs (besides almost a foot in length).

F150 springs are great too. This is AJ's runner with F150s a few years ago. I was impressed. I think he bent them shortly after this though.

Length is their only downfall, especially on bobbed trucks. They are perfect for 4runners though or people who want to keep their beds stock.

I love my chevy's.  my bed is bobbed 11 inches and wheelbase stretched to 111 inches.  I've never had any problems with them being too long or anchoring on rocks.

Yeah I know there are plenty of people that run them with bobbed beds. Seems to be the biggest complaint though. Looks great on your rig superyota.

I just did this swap to my 84 xtra cab last month. I used the chevy front spring hangers and 6" shackles on the rear, I also moved mine back making my wheelbase longer. I have 2" blocks on it also it gave me about 5"s of lift, I didn't change anything else except 6.5" longer drive shaft. I then moved my rear springs to the front with TG SAS mounts that matched the rear lift just right.This moved my front axle forward 2" my truck now has 115" wheelbase. I love it on the climbs, Of course you can't do this with a bed without major surgery. The front clears my 35" BFGs no problem.

I don't know why people say they are too long, I don't have any problems climbing walls and I follow my buddies around everywherer they go in their linked rigs, And it is the best riding yota I've been in except a linked truck.

I run 14s like this /\ in the rear but I think 12s would work too depending on how you mount them.

My rear is mounted like /\ so I'll get some 14 in the rear and 12s with the rufs

Doesn't hurt to take measurements to be sure.

i frenched my 63's into the frame so I had to ditch the 14''s and install 12''s at less of an angle so I am now actually using the damn shock
