98 Toyota Tacoma Rack and Pinion steering boot split
« on: Jun 27, 2009, 08:06:31 AM »
The boot on my rack and pinion power steering is broken on the drivers side and I was wondering how much of a problem that is and also how hard it is to replace.

here are some pictures:

the boot is ripped on my 00 taco and i need to get a new one (another reason to SAS), it should be easy and i dont think there will be alignment issues,  when i put my rack and pinion in the problems came from the matching the splines on the steering shaft.

Won't be that hard at all for you change the toe on that tire. I would count the turns it takes to take the outer tire rod end off and go back on the same amount. Then if you dont have access to a alignment machine I would go get an alignment.
