Topic: throttle sensor help

My 87 22RE is acting spastic, it will run rough but if I press on the side of my throttle sensor then it will improve and run better. The wiring harness no longer has the retaining clips to hold it tight to the sensor and I have contacted my local toyota dealership and they told me that I can not purchase a new connector alone to splice in place of the old one. Has anyone else had this happen or know where I can get a new harness end so I can figure out if its a bad connection or a bad throttle sensor? THANKS ALL

you should be able to get the connector, its not with pigtail though.
the other option is to build a new clip out of a small paper clip

Hit a wrecking yard. That is a common plug used in many 80s Toyota's.

Or you could do something hokey and keep it in place with zip ties-

I used some thin wire wrap around and twisted, but that may not be your problem. It could be your throttle body shaft is worn. Try to wiggle the shaft side to side at the other side if you can move it, its worn and you could have a vacuum leak at the shaft.
