My noise is definitely still there but I guess I've got to be confident that it's not the tranny. At this point, it's almost just got to be something loose & rattly that isn't a major drivetrain component, so I'm either going to take it to a shop  :yikes:  Or try the not-advisable "drive it till it breaks" method.

I have a rebuilt L52 not marlins in my truck and it makes noise all the time since i go it.  I think its just normal for these trans.
Im getting my new L52HD built now.  Soon I will be back in business.  Then Ill sell off this trans.

Well, I won't go into explaining the noise again, but if it's the tranny, it's definitely not just a "normal noisy transmission" type deal. But after being told that Marlin personally pressure washed and inspected my transmission, I've got to be confident that it's good, and I should be looking elsewhere for my noise.

Great to be driving my truck again!

I know it's a dumb question but I can't find a shifter for a l52 and I'm in serious need of one any one know where to get one or if the l45 top shift shifter will work? Not wanting to hijack your thread but it seems like the only place to be seen by more than one person  :beerchug:

Thanks guys but I'm on the "get your self through college" cheap budget. But I just had a guy write me and say he had one but he hasn't said if he will sell it or how much and if it's for sure the right one  :crossed: but if worst come to worse ill just leave the 5spd at home and get around to changing it after college. Wish I would have had the tranny earlier I've been In Cameroon west Africa doing mission work for the past year and they have the 79-83 Toyotas just about every where you go but most of them are 4spd or diesel
