Well, I ordered a copper radiator. :outtahere:
$120.00    Think is easier to fix on on the trails.
Was that a good option?

Was that a solid copper rad for $120, or a copper rad w/a plastic top?
When I was looking for one to replace the leaking one on my '90 3.0, all the ones I found for that amount were all plastic/copper rads.  I decided to just re-solder the top of mine myself, since the rad had been rebuilt less than 30K miles(7yrs) ago.

copper conducts heat better and is generally more durable..  Aluminum is lighter..  I don't see the need to make my toyota a few pounds lighter..  some think aluminum radiators cool better but that is not true due to the fact they are aluminum..  Some might cool better due to the higher efficient core(tighter fin area) But you can also take a stock radiator to a good radiator shop and have a high efficient copper core put in..  Not just a 3 row, but tight fin seperation..

without proper grounding you can get corrosion due to eletrolysis

that is why the head has a little wire that runs from it like 6" back to the firewall

P.S. ONE NOTE .  GO TO YOUR LOCAL FORD DEALER AND BY SOME RADIATOR ADDATIVE THAT THEY USE IN THEIR SUPER DUTY DIESELS, THIS STOPS COROSION AND CUTS DOWN ON THE ELECTROLITIC CONSERNES CAUSED BY THE THERMACOUPLE ACTION IN DISSIMILER METALS, MOTORHD

Lol....Def don't put that additive straight in your coolant. It's a timed injection rate that is in a separate tank designed specifically for the Ford deisel. And it still doesn't work.  :driving:......
90'4runner......lots of goodies.
