I think chevelles (edit:68-72) are extremely ugly. I do not understand what people see in them. Cameros are decent, Novas are not bad, but dang chevelles are UGLY. What do you think?

Time to go wheelin!

Duffil

67 was the last decent year. after that they all look like :moon:

nova/chevelle/malibu/le mans they are all the same body.

What year(s) ya talkin' about?

The first gens after redesign... '68-'72 maybe? Not real sure on years. The second gens are way ugly, but this is about the first gens. The front IMO looks decent, but from the a-pillars back they have a whole lot of ugly.

edited for a little clarification

Duffil

64ish to 67. in 68 they got the ghetto booty.

I really love the early 64/65 novas.

Thank you. Yes I am speaking primarily about the 68-72 or whatever chevelles. They are very ugly.

Rocksurfer

I love the Chevelle Malibu styling. In fact here's a couple of my old creations. I love the look.

68-76 IIRC had the moon booty. the 75/76 were a hatchback. I *think* after that they went to a compact. My buddy has a 72 nova. it doesn't handle, it just goes fast in a straight line. fun for some, but not my cup o tea...and they DO look like butt.

ugly

Oh yeah i guess I should mention why I posted this... my auto teacher has a 69 chevelle he thinks is the tightest :pokinit: on the planet and I think it is damn ugly not to mention it handles terribly. I just wanted to see what you guys thought.

Rocksurfer

Please they were not built to handle like today's cars, built to go fast and go straight but not to corner.

I know this, but the way he talks about it and acts sometimes I would swear it has the 454 in it but it handles like a subi rally car. I still think they are ugly regardless.

I like my 1970 Chevelle.   For some strange reason the rest of the country does too because it is one of the most popular and sought after musclcars of all time.

It was my first car.  I bought it in 1987 when I was 15.

YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

I think my '66 is far from ugly.

rocksurfer: right body style...wrong decade. :gap:

kyota: good luck finding nuts to kick. I've been told recently that I am a woman.

I don't find it fun to go 0-60 in 15sec going straight. put me in a 10sec car and we'l see. :gap:

KDXSR5

64-67=nice... 68-72=ugly and it just went downhill from there.

I had one of those too, my 70 El Camino SS 454 was purdy no matter what you say.

Duffil

The only ones I didn't like were the 71 and 72 with the single headlights beyond that they were all ugly and uselesss.

this thread is so opinionated, in general barret-jackson stats prove this (ugly) car is so wanted that the average price of it makes it unobtainable. if it were a woman, we all be proud to ride. that said there is a generation of people for each car style. just check the production #'s to see how popular it was then, and check auction value for today. I love them all, with mod's of course.
