o2 sensor?
« on: Oct 05, 2004, 02:23:27 PM »
my bros 88 pickup 22re is spazing out. every once in a while the engine code 5 comes on which is the o2 sensor. the truck is fine untill it gets warm then the engine seems like it is not getting enough or to much fuel or oxygen. some times it seems like the engine is going to fall apart then other times it feels like nos. :dunno:

Dang, just check with NAPA and yup there $$.  NAPA said the oem one was $182.99 and the universal one was $70.59. so for $110 I'd change the conectors and be done with it for $70.59.
but that's still some $ just to see if it the truble  :smack:

Mike D,

Does the 88 22re have one or two O2 sensor?  I bought an 88 truck for parts because the guy said the tranny was bad and the motor didn't run.  Well, the tranny is fine (clutch frooze to flywheel) and the motor runs, but like :pokinit:.  It has one 02 senor just before the cat, and one on the exhaust manifold.  The one on the exhaust manifold isn't connected, the end is just a frayed wire.  I need to know if this truck came with two O2 senors and if so, where does the one on the exhaust manifold goes to.  Any help would be great.

Thanks

ccannon

well you got the wrong manifold they only have one infront of the cat. I have the manifold that you need somewhere in the garage.
