If your running a v8 its a doable thing.  But be ready to fight the little air gremlins.  Alot of people have spendt more time trying to get the air worked out of the system than it's worth.

Get a electric pusher fan.  They make those slim line electric fans, that push some serious air.  We've seen some guys also move the front core support forward a couple of inches.  Flex fans are :pokinit:!  All they do is flatten out at higher rpm's and don't pull needed air through the radiator.  There are many guys that are running a SBC and running a thick radiator and a electric fan with zero problems.

Which water pump do ya have?  There are two for SBC's.  They make a short and long water pumps.
