One of our mechanics got the boot today.  I work for  Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk an amusement park in Santa Cruz, and a rare opening has occured.  So if anyone is interested apply.  They pay well, all the benefits, (including a recent 2% increase in 401/profit sharing).  Everyone I work with is a Hot Rodder, Salt Flat racer, custombike builder and all around good people.  We have an opportunity to fab our own junk and use company tools (very nice).

Just got to throw it out there with all these layoffs occuring.  This Job is one people usually retire at. We need SAFETY conscious people with diverse talents.

NOTE:  This isn't even advertised yet.

What!? It's a job, I've always thought about working in an amusement park but about the only job that pays good is in ride maintenance. Those are hard to come by since not very many people leave, I lived by Magic Mountain for years and they never had a single opening.

While parks lay-off employees, the State does require that we maintain a level of maintenance, and that is why ride mechanic jobs never see the axe (unless parks close).  We have the beach and we are free to enter so in a recession we sit pretty.  Most of the guys I work with are 10+ years with the company and some more than 25.

I heard that this is a seasonal job is this true?
:headscratch:

Some are but not mechanics, security and other essential positions that require full time employees.

This is a permanent, full time, benefits, year around job, uniforms paid, and you don't even need your own tools.

and yes I am a clown.

Yes they are going to fill this position, and no its still not posted

4RunnerChevy

I asked today about the posting of the job, and the req. requires many signatures (big company crap).   The best bet is to get the test and application over with.  They think it will post by Monday.  I hope they do this quick cause I have three guys on Saturday to open 31 rides, there will be delays !

This Job is posted, so apply away.  It was posted on the 21st, sorry for the delay, I had time off.  :smack:

If only they needed IT help.  :gap:

I'm sure those roller coasters need an IP address. I could send the DHCP request along the steel tracks.   :hahaha:
