Hey guys,

In my opinion this is an annoying feature of this forum software, so I recommend you to change it.

All new accounts are set by default to Not use the Quick Reply Box and to Not return to threads after posting.

What is the Quick Reply box? When enabled its a small box at the bottom of each thread where you can directly enter a reply and post it without having to load the reply page. The only thing is that it doesn't list the smilies, so to use them you will need to memorize the smiliey code. So that's why its called "Quick"

And what do I mean when I say "does not return to threads after posting"? Im saying that each time you reply to a thread, it throws you back into the Board where the thread belongs instead of back to the thread so you can review what you just posted.

Now I dont know if this bothers any one else but I hate it. I want to be directed back to the thread after I make a reply so I can see what I just wrote and make sure its good.

So if you are interested, here's what ya do:
  • Step 1: Go to your Look and Layout Preferences located in your Profile section.
  • Step 2: Check the box for "Return to topics after posting by default." to enable this feature.
  • Step 3: Near the bottom, there is an option for "Use quick reply on topic display:". Pull down the menu and select "show, on by default"
  • Step 4: Then just click on the "Change Profile" botton and your set.

That's it. Im sure you will agree that the Quick Reply is nice and that returning to the threads after posting is also nice.

Have fun!
BigMike

:welcome: anyways! :beerchug:

Some of the newbie's post their introductions here instead of creating a thread, I don't know why but they do Mike. Maybe they'll read this post and start threads now instead of posting here..... but I doubt it. :gap:

hey everyone, i'm new on the site. i just got an '89 yota truck and its up in sac at my uncles shop. i'm gonna paint it, lift it a bit more, put seats, a roll cage, and new tires, maybe fix up the engine a little. i also like to ride dirtbikes, i ride a honda CRF150, stiff suspension and i'm only 5feet tall! ha, so maybe my bike is a little too tall, but who cares! i also like to wakeboard and race sailboats in SC.

Do you have the "Quick Reply" box at the bottom of your page (like, from where you're at - reading this thread)?
