To be honest I have not really put much thought into it at this point, I have been doing some research over on celicasupra.com and from what I have read so far its not THAT difficult of a swap compared to some other tranny or motor swaps. Its not much of a priority at this point in time so I have just read a little here and there to get some ideas.

im willing to sell every part needed for the 5 spd swap too, im looking for a 1uz and need the $$

I would love to buy all the parts from you to get me started but honestly for the price you are probably asking for everything shipped, I could pick up an entire parts car for the same amount. I already found one locally for $500 in good running condition, and ATM I would rather get my 4runner going than waste any time or money on my Supra. It works great right now so until I have extra money and most importantly, time, I will just be running the Supra how it is. Id also rather pick up a parts car just to have, and pull the 5 speed parts off of it when I am ready.

So thanks again for the offer and I understand you wanting to off it, but my current financial situation just doesn't allow for two project vehicles at the same time. This car is my DD and needs to serve that purpose with as few periods of downtime as possible. If you still have it in XXX amount of time I will hit you up, but it will probably be gone by then.

You might take a run down to the P-n-P in Fairfield.  My brother-n-law used to go there for all the parts he needed for his '85, it is right across from Travis AFB.  It is about an hour South of Sac.

I have never been to the Fairfield PNP. Is it any better than the ones in Rancho Cordova?

My brother-in-law said they always had what he needed for his MKII when ever he needed it.  Living in Sac it got broken into quite a few times, and after each break in he was able to what was broken the next day after work at the P-n-P.

I haven't made a run down there yet, I have been lucky being able to get most of the missing items I have needed so far from the Supra forums, and the P-n-P off of Taylor in Roseville, I needed some driving lights and they happened to have one MKIII w/both lights on it.

If you go to the one in Fairfield, bring your bug spray w/you, my brother-in-law always got bit-up pretty good by what he thought were jiggers.

You might also keep an eye on craigslist.com(Sac, Reno, Chico, and the SF Bay Area), from time to time MKII's will show up on there, though it tends to be cyclical.

Went to Fort Bragg, CA for a week with my girlfriend for her 22nd birthday. Put 600 miles on the Supra, averaged about mid 20s in MPG overall. Ran great the whole time. We had a great time and I wish I didnt have to come back to reality. Anyway took some pics and figured I  would just throw them in here.

Haha the only :pokinit: I might get done in regards to the Supra is finish uploading the rest of the pics from our August trip. I forgot to finish doing that. haha

Yeah, if you want I can send you the full size images, the originals are much higher quality and make better desktops then these I condensed and uploaded.

I found this thread and read through it. Man, you scored! Immediately after reading it, I started looking on Craigslist and ebay. You gave me the bug to find one to have as a "backup" to my "backup" truck.

very nice.

Hahah hell yeah. When I heard my neighbor was going to donate this thing to charity, I knew I had to swoop on it. Just glad it didn't get sent to the crusher. I have big plans for it, but for now even in 25 year old, stock form, it is a really fun car to drive. Gets pretty good mileage too. Definitely fun little cars. I'd like to swoop on a few more before they are impossible to find... Toyota didn't produce nearly as many as they did our pick ups and 4runners.

I spent a few hours looking for one all across the US...Just to see... :hammerhead: and I think you are right about how rare they are. I graduated high school in 1989, and had a 79 mustang cobra, an 83 camaro, and a Suzuki Samura before I went off to college. I remember seeing the Supras back then, but didn't think much about them since I was all about the American Car at that time. Ironically, I don't remember anyone having a 1st gen 4runner in my hometown.
I will keep my eyes posted for a clean Supra to swoop up, but it will be down a few spots of the list of stuff I am looking for.

Take a look at the classifieds on www.celicasupra.com. A lot of nice cars get put up for sale on that site. I see more for sale there than on ebay and craigslist. And people there usually find all the good ebay/cl adds anyway and post them up.

Nice, looks like a good candidate for a parts car or fixer upper.

I have been searching craigslist to see what's out there. Its pretty interesting.
However, I need to focus on getting my 84 4runner back together before I buy another 25 year old vehicle! If I sell my 85 4runner and 85 truck (complete but not running), I will probably buy a Supra.

Only update is it didnt pass smog recently, so I put new plugs in and it passed. New plugs seemed to really help with the white smoke, hardly blows any smoke at all, just a small puff on start up. Valve seals are leaking, looking into taking care of that. Never done valve seals before on any engine.
