Yeah I have been harassed a lot in my 4runner, but I got even more :pokinit: being 16 and driving my Accord with the limo tint..... luckily now I work for a GVPD and enough of em come by the shop and see me on a weekly basis so I am hoping I can do the name drop when I get pulled over and get out of a ticket the next time they screw with me. :crossed: :gap:

I just want black rims. The stock rims are sweet, but I dunno. Maybe I will keep the stock rims, just get the BFG tires for now. I am going to tint it, regardless. Limo in the rear 3 windows, 25 true gray up front. Also still planning on smoking out the tail lights.

Today I ordered some stuff from Napa. As much as I wanted to get all spendy, and go with a bling bling brake set up, I just went with Napa brand rotors (4 new rotors) and then the nicest brand pads Napa sold. Of course they didn't have it in stock, so gonna pick it all up after work and do the brakes on friday or sat. I found a company that sells stainless steel brake lines for my car, but the full set runs $180+ tax and shipping and I am thinking I can find a local shop that can make me some brake line for cheaper. I would like to go stainless brake lines all the way around just cuz. I will see what I can find locally on friday.

pssst, toyota pickup brake lines are the same ....but longer

Did the brakes a couple days ago, the front rotors and pads were tits but I replaced the old pads (they were about 40%) for the hell of it. Put the new Brembo rotors on the rear and pads as well.

Actually yes, a lot has been repaired on this car. No mods, just repairs. I planned on having some problems so I put aside extra money accordingly. Here is everything that has been replaced or done in the last 2 weeks:

All belts replaced including the drive belt and the timing belt
a bunch of old seals
got a new radiator cap
flushed the coolant system
replaced the cam tower gaskets
a couple other leaky gaskets were replaced
distributor oring replaced
several old soft hoses replaced

I was leaking oil in 5 different spots BAD, it was a disaster under there.

Then the day after getting all that stuff done I was driving in the boonies and I blew a trans cooler line. After climbing numerous trees I finally managed to hail AAA. Replaced both soft lines.

Week later my alternator finally took a crap. So I replaced that. Now I am hoping I can make it a few months at least before anything else goes wrong *knock on wood*  :gap:

Then comes the big upgrade a few months from now... swap to manual.

No, really - like the difference between your old Honda and this car again.  But it's very complicated and time consuming.

Yeah, I would love to have a manual in this car. I have been doing my research and trying to find out what tranny options I have, it looks like the R154 is the most common 5 speed swap but I am trying to figure out the possibilities with mini truck and 4runner 2wd trannies. Supras are not very common in my neck of the woods, I have had zero luck finding a parts car around here, let alone one in decent shape with a good working 5 speed.

there are a few dozen up here, and the swap isnt as hard as you think it is, if you have the parts

Small update, ordered some tires from Costco the other day. I recently noticed my 10 year old tires have cracked pretty bad since I have been driving on them and in one spot on a rear tire, I can just barely see the metal mesh inside poking through. I decided to go with the stock tire size which is 225/60/R14. The only company that I could find that still makes a tire in that size is BFG. They were also pretty cheap and I got a good deal through Costco so I ordered 4 up. I should have gotten 5 so I could have a new spare but the one I have is in good shape and holds air so screw it.

These are the tires I got: BFG Radial TAs

They should be here by next week. for less than $500 I got 4 tires plus a good warranty and road hazard package and free rotation and balance. These haggard, dry 10 year old tires have gotten me around for this long but its time to get some new rubber  The front two tires are only about 5 years old and still in pretty good shape so I am going to save them for spares.

I also washed and waxed it the other day, as you can see my front end paint definitely needs some TLC, lots of little nicks and imperfections.

Finally got my new tires mounted. Holy crap what a difference these make over 10 year old tires :gap:

Not the most aggressive tread I have ever seen but from what I understand, a long standing tire in BFG's line up and still plenty aggressive for me.

So here you have it, my new BFG Radial TAs. Definitely look a lot more aggressive and meaty in real life compared to the pic I posted earlier, which definitely does not do them justice.

They may not be 39.5 Iroks but I am still exited to buy brand new tires, since I always buy used tires for my 4runner.
