engine looks sexy!  i have a 20r/22r in mine.  it runs out pretty strong, but i would still rather have fuel injection

got my front axle today  i have no idea  what year it from  it also came with a steering box any one know  what year the box came from and can i use it. my truck had no power steering.heres a pick  63 chevys im going to use

the pic is small, but from what it looks like that is an older style "push pull" steering box.  You will want a newer steering box off of an IFS truck for your solid axle swap.  And you said your truck does'nt have power steering?  that is wierd, i have never seen a toyota pickup without power steering! especially an 87

Do I need to remove the left bottom perch

you dont want to completely remove it because it keeps your U-bolts from moving around to much on the axle.  you can deffinately trim it down for more clearance though! It kinda has sharp edges that get hung up on rocks and such.

OK  thanks.  On Friday the housing will go to sand blasting (rust inside & out)Someone knows a better way to clean the inside.

sand blasted the housing today,DAM SAND BLASTING HURT'S

looks good! just make sure ALL of the sand is cleaned out before you reassemble it!
