lifted_drifter

Well i have a hydraulic press there and i got one halfway out.

It only took 8 tons of pressure .................

lol

Birfailed

Go 1-Ton from the start

lifted_drifter

Yea i'm just tryin to get the stock ones out so i can put the ones from the lift spring packs in.

lifted_drifter

I wish i had taken better pics of the front spring packs i created.

But 4 springs isnt too whack or thin is it?

punchyyoter85

i saw this truck on the portland craigslist a couple of months ago. but its a nice truck!  :beerchug:

lifted_drifter

haha yeah i was trying to sell it a while ago because i could have gotten a sweet deal on a buddys truck :)

but its cool

lifted_drifter

I've had some real problems with the front bushings and ended up having to get a sleeve for the front spring pack made by my buddy. Still waiting on the one for the other side but i got some pics of the axle just sitting underneath the truck.

Mostly just larch mountain, my backyard, and my buddies backyard that we turned from a quad track to a truck track. Not much around here really. IP road but its only open in the daytime and some of the forest service roads around there.

Progress:

front axle mostly in!!!!
rear plates slotted to fit the wider u bolts!

heres some pics

oh and the last one is ride height, its sitting by itself on the front. I think its gonna be pretty good, those are 35" in the pics and im planning on 37. I also still have stock shackles on there that are gonna go. And i'm gonna need to lengthen my front DL

89sastoyo

oh nice i was sup to go snow wheelin at larch with a bunch of guys from corbett never did though. with a bigger shackle that will be perfect for 37s not to high nor to low

Thanks! I wish I could have gotten them welded today, but the welder we had didn't have enough power so I have to borrow one on thursday.

An its gonna be a stick welder.............. but it should be okay.

lifted_drifter

YAY for the Montgomery ward arc welder circa 1965 and someone who knows how to use it!

Some pics of the spring hangars and the ifs box all welded up now. Its almost done!

KYOTA

those are some sweet spring plates whoever made those is awesome

lifted_drifter

I know right?

The person who milled them was basking in the awesomeness of there construction while milling them and being very elated he didn't have to make his own :)

So pretty much all i have left to do is:

1. Put in front shackles i just got in the mail.
2. Finish welding my rear shackles.
3. Radiator back in.
4. Gas tank back in.
5. Bleed Power steering.
6. Alignment.
7. Go get my new front driveline.

8. And stop being ghetto and find money to buy front u bolt flips!
9. Bleed Brakes

lifted_drifter

and i almost forgot

10. Wheel.
11. Break something.
12. Fix.
13. Repeat
14 :)

lifted_drifter

And chevies have large engine compartments!

GJToyotabug

looks like a good start man  im hopin to buy another yota (just bought one and thinking about another one) to crawl with instead of prerun

89sastoyo

Chevies huge compartment is cool for sitting in but sucks cause its a pain to lean over the side and reach down on the motor lol.

Thanks guys!
I think a pre runner would be fun, but not much use here! I want to move to someplace warm when i get done with school and try out the sand :)

Yeah. Yay for the 71 c10 that my friend got for chopping some dude's cord of wood. All it needed was the head put back on and it runs like a champ.

Got my shackles on today and the truck is finally sitting on its own again :)

Not so sure about the angle though  :headscratch:

Also got a diff breather made.

More pics tomorrow, plus i put in a EXTREME performance mod.

THK Matt

you need to move your rear shackle mounts BACK! like 2-2.5ins

Thats what i thought.

How would i do this if i bob the bed right behind the stock hangars? Hang off bumper?

At the current angle what problems is it gonna create? I figured it would just limit my uptravel?

THK Matt

don't bob it til you move that hanger back first.... less work on you.
