Cant decide on running mirrors with my half doors or without? I find myself occasionally looking for them but like the look without them and don't want to go drilling holes in my door just yet.

If you got a nice bed still then get the mirrors.  If its already smashed up then who cares?
YOU ONLY NEED TWO TOOLS IN LIFE - WD-40 AND DUCT TAPE. IF IT DOESN'T MOVE
AND SHOULD, USE THE WD-40. IF IT SHOULDN'T MOVE AND DOES, USE THE DUCT TAPE.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER, YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

Why not just make the doors with mirrors that come off easily for trail use VIA a release pin, magnet, fold in hinge....? There's gotta be more than one way to do it so that even if the door gets damaged the mirror can still be placed where it belongs.  :dunno:

That way you can use them comfortably on the street and if you get in a situation off-road they can be removed with little to no effort so they won't be destroyed.  :gap:  Then put them back on when you get off the trail.

Just my  :twocents:

:psss: BTW, I have mirrors on my half doors and I'm planning on making them swing in.   :shhh: :gap:

I too have half doors with mirrors.  They are held on with the stock toyota hardware.  It takes about 30 seconds a side to remove them for the trail, or to put them back on the real doors.   My runner is a ticket waiting to happen, so I don't give the CHP any more excuses.   :twocents:

Personally I want all the mirror I can get.  I like having both side mirrors and a usable center mirror.

I also think a truck looks incomplete without mirrors.  And as was mentioned earlier, if your going to run on the street at all.  You have to have at least the left and center, if the center mirror isn't obscured or blocked.  Or left and right side mirrors.

I like to point my side mirrors down some on the trail so I can see obstacles near my wheels and bed.

I like to run mirrors on the trail for the same reason I use them on the street...to see the cars behind me.  When on a trail run with other trucks, it's nice to see how far back the guy behind me is without turning all the way around.

So what'd you end up going with?  Mirrors or no mirrors?

What is everyone else running?

man driving without the side mirrors on the street confuses you and pisses you off quick after being used to having them with full doors

Well currently i have no mirrors but that's mainly because i have been busy Wheeling and haven't worked on my truck i a while. I took my center mirror off when i built my rollcage and threw it away like a tard. I sold my cage since i had no headroom and wish i had my center mirror. So i am going to try a find a center mirror and if that's not enough mirror for me than i will run one on the driverside door. I actually think my half doors look better with no mirrors but will sacrifice looks for function if needed.

I'm sure but my truck doesn't get driven on the street except to load on the trailer. Its not emission-ed, thus no current registration, no license plate, 37's and no bed, no mirrors, beadlocks, not to mention my tires havent been inflated to more than 5lbs since it was built. If i tried i think i would get pulled over quick and probably have my truck impounded

jimbo74

if its going to be on the street, you have to have 2 working mirrors..... i would put them on, just so cops have 1 less thing to harass me about..... my :driving: attracts enough attention ;)

Yeah, you can't have any mirrors that don't work.  :rofl2:

I would at least have to one on the driver side. Other then that leave the passenger side out .

Honestly, on the trail, I would rather have the Passenger side mirror.  Considering, as the driver, I can't see that side of the truck as well!!

I just run my center rear view. I do the same and pretty much never on the street unless its around my house in the neighbor hood. I had thought about getting a side mirror but it will just get busted off anyway. I find I can see enough from my rear veiw...however I dont have cab so looking over my shoulder is no big deal.

when I still had half doors just a drivers side mirror was nice

Tool Pimp

I run one on both doors but then again I drive it on the street sometimes to. They do come in handy  :beerchug:
