need help with coil rates
« on: Feb 16, 2009, 08:07:41 PM »
so im gonna be getting some coilovers within the next week or so and have no idea what rate springs i need.
the truck will weigh about the same as any pickup. they will be 16" travel 2.0's. so what spring rates should i start with? and what lengths should they  be. its set up for 5" up travel. so like a 200#/16" and 150#/14" ?
i really have no idea

thanks for the help in advance

that should be good, but you might need a tender coil to keep the springs tight if you want to keep it low.

I have 16" 300 and 14" 175 but it needs a tender if you run the 14" spring but you need the 14" to get it to sit low

there ya go, with the 14" upper spring you'll have to also run a tender coil but its the only way to have a smaller amount of shock shaft showing at ride hieght
