Turtle points are based on whether or not other people like or dislike your posts.  Usually when someone feels you really gave them helpful information or made good valid points to questions they have asked, they in return as a way of saying thank you they will give you a turtle point.  On the other hand if someone feels you are just wasting space or give wrong information they will take a point away.  If you look where your turtle points are given (in the little box with your screen name) there is a Give and Take highlighted in red.  This is where you give or take away points.  Hope this is helpful to you and anybody else wondering the same thing

All in all...not as many as some would imagine.

But, the repetitive topics signal new blood in the sport...so lay off ya old fart!

I don't have the "Give" and "Take" highlighted in red that you were talking about.  Maybe I get that when I have 12 posts too.

You don't have them cause you can't give yourself points.  Only other people.  Happy surfing and use your points well as it is kinda a grading system on who you feel like trusting or who you would want to take advise from.  Though 99% of the people in this forum know an awfull lot about toyota.  Anyway see ya on the trails

I don't know...some of the most knowledgeable peeps here have huge negative numbers. I think it's more about who chaps your ass.

I take advice from most anyone...I seek the advice of very few.

Most of the people who have been here forever either have TONS of points, or are WAY in the negative.  Back in the day there used to be floating turtles you could click on and they'd either give you points or take away points.  Now that they're gone, some of us  are left with mega negative numbers
