Goose's New 94 Ho-Runner
« on: Jan 09, 2009, 11:40:27 PM »
So as some of you may know, I bought a 94 4runner...
I figured it was time to make a new buildup for it...
Its a red, 3.0, 5speed, with a/c, c/c, power everything (and it all works), and the whole nine yards..
It had a bad rod knock, and had several parts stolen off of it, but the body and interior are in great condition..

Things missing or stolen on it;
Distributor
Hood
Front Seats
Front Corner Lights
Couple Spark Plug Wires
Fan Shroud
Shifter Knobs
Center Console
Broken Passenger Heater..
All the bolts holding the fenders on...

Nothing to hard to track down and get at the local junkyard..

Pics!
Cause i know The mob will be angry if i dont post some..
This is off the Craigslist ad when i bought it, really shows how nice and clean it was...

Ill sort through my cam and post a few more up here in a bit..

Yeah, im looking to get it running and drivable for awhile, and then the solid axle and all my suspension from my rolled ext. cabs probably gonna go under it, along with my 4.7 case, some new bumpers and a exo  :disturbed: :flamer: :_order:

So heres some more pics...
It was really dark in the shop when i took these, so theyre not the best, ill get some out in the light after the bottom ends back together..

Other than somebody spray painting the passenger door, the outside is in great shape..
I put a couple bolts into the fenders for now cause they were dangling by the plastic guards.
The insides almost perfect. Theyres one crack in the dash, and one small blemish on the rear passenger door panel and thats it.
Whoever stole the center console ripped the rear heater off its mounts and twisted it around, ruining the inlet pipes though :sad2:

Also, I scored a perfect shape red top optima from the local junkyard for $30
Cant beat that!

I got the bottom end apart.
Ta da! Spun rear rod bearing  :gap:

Im still weighing my options on what to do here..
Slap a bearing in it and run it for a while.
Pull the crank, have it reground and run all new bearings
Swap cranks with my other 3.0s and run new bearings...
Or...
Just put a f#%king 3.4l in it already...

Ideas people?:headscratch:

 :)

Heres where the missing distributor should be...
I think i found one on ebay, but if anyone has one for sale, let me know..
It has to be from a 92-95 with the oval connector in the last 2 pics

if youv got the cash to get it done do teh 3.4, otherwise, why not just swap the whole 3.0 out of your truck into this thing?

clean by the way, looks good.

lol yeah, plus this things really gonna be a ho-magnet when its done..
I cant wait till summer, im gonna be packing beetches in that thing to go swimmin up the canyon..
Surprisingly the cranks not as bad as i thought it would be...
I mean, theyres scratches if you run your nail over it, but theyre not deep, and no bad cross gouges...

ive got that dist. pm me
Will do..

i would just swap the one bearing. no sence in putting to much money into it. my opinion

Thats what im probably gonna do, at least for the time being...
In the long run, i still want to the do the 3.4l swap, its just a money issue..

$4 bearing now vs. $1500 swap.
