I just got back, it was ok nothing special. the snow was not packing at all. as soon as you broke the crust it was like styrofoam. or maybe it was just the tires I'm running. all in all it was cool.

Thanks for the pics ZuperDave.
I've been wanting to see what kind of snow we still had left up there.
Looks like we need another storm. You can still see the guardrail at the bridge.
A couple of repairs this week and I hope to be up there this weekend.
Anyone else?

Revised, just talked to a buddy with a Jeep on tons and 40s. He said the snow was terrible. Like flour, and he didn't get past the Y to head up past the trail head. Boooo we need more snow.

. No flour like it will not pack at all and you'll dig alot.

I never heard it discribed like Flour,..? I would discribe it more like the little round bb's you find in bean bag chairs. But there is a 1" Crust of ice ontop. Then about 20" of Bean Bag bb's......It's was terrible.

You can see, just above Brendon here, there is very little snow, not even enough to cover the trail. Last year around this time there was over 3' in this area.

Any updates on the snow @ bald.... I was thinking of going this week/weekend. Im going to be up in Auberry all week workn on my truck. I dont want to run the trail during the week if no ones gonna be up there. But if someone wants to go hit me up. Still have the tube doors on so Ill prob trailer it too the trail head. We were up there last Sunday. The snow coverage was excelent, barring a couple mud pits.

just be careful around the pipe barriers at the crevasses
