the only thing that sucks about dual shackles is the axle wrap but it will work til you have $$ for other stuff

Yota-Freak

is it just a rougher ride...like wont break ur truck?

toyotanner

basically it kind of just makes your rear axle a little less sturdy.

Yota-Freak

well im cool with that=) u think that will give my current springs alot more flex? or should i still try to get some new springs as well?

NorCalToy

your rear end starts hopping and jerking, bouncing kinda.

if u get bad axle hop and keep in it, u run the chance of breaking a u-joint

Yota-Freak

that reminds me to get a new ujoint...lol thanks...i have so much play its not even funny.

Never could get anything out of those 2nd gen springs either.  I'd use the 63" chevy springs or make a mish mash pack with no overloads and some longer shackles like they say, then use a little bit longer shocks.  For the IFS: I tried those ball joint spacers on an '86 last year and you know what... they add quite a bit of flex to the IFS.  I didn't have any issues either except that you really, really need to adjust your alignment afterwords.  You should probably get an idler arm gusset from downey though to help keep your steering alive!

Weld up your rear diff if you haven't already, then flex doesn't matter so much anyway...

im a little short on cash, and tires are my priotity right now...but yeah i wanna get some new leafs and dual shackles for the rear...and do what i can to the front.

GJToyotabug

what i would do is:

move the rear springs into an A shape
longer shackels
pull the sway bar
take the extra shocks off the front

or SAS that beast

Yota-Freak

yeah im gunna do all of the following except SAS..lol. cant afford it

Yota-Freak

lets totally screw with em and call it a power plant=)

Rocksurfer

 :haha:

 Just don't want nobody to try and make an A from their springs, that may work over in yotatech but we have good tech here.

Motor is electric silly.
