Well, the big move is done..... i have just relocated to Oregon City, OR.........im from northern california (s. lake tahoe) and i am used to some of the best wheelin in the country (rubicon and fordyce) right outside my back door. So now i need to find some trails around the Portland, OR area. Anybody that knows of GOOD trails in the area, PLEASE RESPOND! Im NOT looking for some "off-roading"  I want some REAL Wheelin'.  Is there anything comperable to the rubicon or fordyce in oregon?? Oh i hope so....... Also, anybody know of 4x4 parts dealers in portland??

Tillamook State forest / Browns Camp area is one of the best places in Oregon..thats where i usually go most of the time. lots of different trails and good rock gardens. there's also some good spots in eastern Oregon.

TSF is badass wheelin..... there is lots of good wheelin around here.... there is a 4 wheel parts in portland and lots of other little off-road shops in the area as well.....we will prolly be headed to tsf in a couple weeks you should roll with us next time and do some wheelin....

Most of them hit up TSF.  TSF is not like CA trails, alot of dirt trails, muddy areas, and some mini rubicon trails.  And some hit up the Reiter, Naches, and other trails in the WA area.  White Trash could tell you more about those.  There are some in the Bend/Prineville/Redmond area.  If you like sand, there is Sandlake, Florence, and Winchester Bay dunes.  Timbercrawler site is in a low right now, due to some internal politics, but once they come back, and when the snow hits, they usually hit up the Goat Mtn area for some snow wheeling, which is in your neck of the woods, Colton, OR.

Thats where I live. Right when you get onto redland from 213 turn left up holcome rd. Are you past the redland store?

i live in clackamas oregon probably about 8-10 minutes from you. The best wheelin is at TSF browns camp and prison camp etc.... you can find some cool things at goat mountain in estacada... all the other places like promitory and wildcat in estacada are just mudruns.

i know theres stuff in bend/prineville area but have never been..... either way you only get about 3-4 months of dry wheelin in oregon.

sabenson82

Well, we should do some wheelin' after the holidays. the weather the past few days here in the p-town area should make it real fun. where is goat mt.? ive been to estacada, to pick up some chickens for my new coop, and im not far from there. How about browns camp and prison camp? how far away are they?

browns camp and prison are both part of Tillamook State Forest or TSF they are about an hour away... but in the snow no use in going all the way there... goat mt is right outside estacada probably like 25 minutes away from you. i'm down to do some wheelin for sure... working on getting my truck going this weekend hopefully.

The real wheeling is in the eastern portion of the state if you like rock crawling

are you talking about bend/prineville? i have wanted to take a trip out there. isnt it all sharp rock?

sabenson82

i love the rocks.  the rubicon and fordycce are both mostly granite.  that is what i am used to. i hate the mud. it is a pain in the ass. my rig is built to crawl.
