Disc Brake Grease
« on: Nov 05, 2008, 09:07:03 AM »
Hi,

On the Marlin install tech notes for the transmission, it says to put disc brake grease on the release bearing. Is this the same as the 'Disc Brake Quiet' stuff to put between pads and calipers?

Thanks,

Michael

no. disc brake quiet is a silicone based dampening material that stops harmonic vibrations between the pad and the caliper piston. Use grease, and a very light coat.
